Just received this message from also a “Janet Wayne.” I’m at my wits end trying to find a decent paying remote job since December 2023. At this point I’ll just go work retail. I cannot with Indeed. And that’s considering I disabled the option for texts. Even LinkedIn is getting ridiculous. A screenshot for you all to enjoy.

I received this text message today -
I always do a Google Search of the phone number or SMS number the text comes from first, then search for company name and then check the job website to see if any such job posting.

I received a text message from the number +1 931-233-3867, stating that they saw my application on Indeed and 'were inviting me to apply for a remote position working for them as Data Entry/Customer Service Representative for $35 an hour.

I know that such a high intital hourly wage is unlikely for that sort of work without prior experience or a degree. I researched the company on Google and found that similar scams have been done using this company's name in the past.

Brief experience at a call center and online safety knowledge helped me know that it was likely phishing and I have blocked the number without replying prior to this report

I am reporting this here so the information is visible in case it happens again.

Thank you for your time.

Here's hoping the next job offer I get is not fake.
