Initial billing was an attempt to collect up and beyond what an insurance company is willing to pay. The company, in the past, refused to provide details or even ask about insurance. After a Covid-19 test, the company is entitled to see your insurance EOB (how much did the insurance pay), but is not allowed to charge you an amount above that -- which is what they are trying to do (my opinion, in case someone wants to wordsmith me).
TIP: Upon initial billing by MEDUSA or Sports Drug Lab, it helps if you provide them with an EOB from your insurance company, but they don't volunteer that information). They can't charge you if your insurance paid, and they can't charge you in excess of what your insurance company paid. Your out of pocket should be $0.
WREN HOLLOW MEDICAL is the latest incarnation of the illegal billing attempts. It is interesting how billing (from any of the above) is pretty (nice colors, professional layout), but provides very little useful information.
Don't pay without doing your research. Double-check with your insurance company to find out what it did pay. They can't charge you in excess of that. This bill is lower than the original- it's gone from $200 to $100 (previous billing names) -- and Wren is now charging only $50, but without explanation. Perhaps they think you'll pay without investigating.
Note: A phone number is provided for Wren Hollow Medical if you search online. However, the person on the other end (cell phone) claim to not be part of the company and is not the mentioned owner. If true, then the person with that number is also a victim.
