I saw this scam as an ad on Instagram last year. They said that through them you could buy a 'Palestine Keffiyeh' that would then have some of its proceeds go to support 'emergency aid to the Palestinian community'. I bought a keffiyeh for myself for $9.99, and didn't think much of it until a few months later. Last month, I looked and saw consistent payments of $49.98 being brought to my account by Woven For Change after my initial purchase, which I was not aware of. I deeply apologize to them if somewhere they disclosed it was a subscription and I missed it, but on their website, they lack a way to cancel said subscription. I can log in, see my payments and information, but there is no other way to be brought off of their monthly payments unless you contact support, so I did so. I called their number, but all that led to were ads about products that were not connected to my issues. Then I emailed '[email protected]' a week ago, only to not get a reply to my problem. I emailed again yesterday, then to still get no reply. I do not wish to be apart of their subscription, and I worry they have made an effort to make it harder to leave it as well as making an effort to lure people into monthly payments.

Woven For Change advertises through social media to people wanting to help the Palestinian people during the time of crisis in the middle east by selling a keffiyeh, a Palestinian scarf, then offered to give them away free. We just pay $10 shipping and handling. I got the scarf but when I checked my bank statement I saw $49.94 taken from my account. At first I thought there was an error and decided to let it go as a donation. A month later later I checked my balance and found another $49.94 taken from my account. After an internet check I found scam alerts about this group and complaints lodged against them.

The company was advertising free keffiyeh scarves through Instagram, but only paying for shipping. I purchased a scarf but noticed a few days later they charged an additional $49.94 to my credit card. I tried calling the contact number 5 times but they never picked up and their voicemail was always full. After filing a dispute with my credit card company I was able to get refunded, but they charged me another $49.94 this month. I was able to get through to the company via their support email, they said they would cancel the "membership" but not refund me because it was part of the terms I agreed to at checkout. I was never presented with this membership agreement at checkout, this is clearly something that they are using to scam people. I can only imagine that there are many other people who have purchased something from their website who are now being charged monthly without realizing it.

The original advertisement was on Instagram in which they stated they were "giving away" their products and all that had to be paid for was shipping (ten dollars). Immediately after the purchase, I was charged 40 dollars, and then two months later I was charged another 40 dollars as some "subscription" that was deeply hidden within the terms and conditions (i assume this because there's no way for me to find the terms and conditions as the receipt sent to me does not have much information).

I ordered a product from the website that I was informed was a part of a promotional deal where I only had to pay for shipping. I input my credit card information to pay the $10 for shipping, and I received my product shortly after. Then, approximately a month later, a charge appears on my credit card that is marked as potential fraud by my credit card company, and it's Woven For Change randomly charging $50 to my card. I have seen online that numerous other people have had the same experience as me.

I wanted to purchase an authentic product supporting a cause I believe in. Without thinking, I purchased some cheap product that was "free" and which I only needed to pay shipping for. Alarm bells only rung after I had given my debit account info. After researching the company, others said that this company, Woven For Change, tries to charge 4 times the original amount at a later period, the product is cheap and made from China, and the funds do not even go towards a charity supporting the cause we believe in. I was directly targeted via Instagram stories and advertisement.
