Pop up on kids computer instructed me to call a tech support number. I called. They answered and said there has been a Trojan horse downloaded and people were using our IP address. They offer to help by tempting in on any desk. I hung up after they poked around in my computer for a few minutes.

My mother has received several call from the above 804 area code number requesting call back to the 800 number. The left messages indicate her home computer is full of viruses and that hackers have access to her computer; also this is Windows. After several attempts calling both numbers I reach a person named Alex at the 804 area code phone number. After asking the number they called, he provided me a case number HAR9186. Next he said that they would remove the viruses from our computer free of charge. I replied, 'Ok, great, can you tell me what version of Windows this would be on?'; he then tried to guide me thru to find info on my computer - the problem/issue is that we have no Windows PCs in our household, all Apple Mac. When I mentioned this to Alex the phone call abruptly ended.

local numbers with (260) 580-xxxx ARE BEING USED TO CALL MY PHONE. WHEN I CALL THESE NUMBERS BACK I GET EITHER THIS NUMBER IS NOT IN USE RECORDINGS, OR A VOICEMAIL TELLING ME NOT TO LEAVE A MESSAGE THEY HAVE TAKEN OVER MY PHONE AND IT IS A SCAM, OR THE OWNER OF THE PHONE DID NOT MAKE THE CALL. THIS STARTED HAPPENING A FEW DAYS AFTER MY HOME PC HAD A MALWARE ATTACK AND I WAS TOLD TO CALL THE FOLLOWING NUMBER 844-209-0189, I CALLED THE NUMBER BUT DID NOT GIVE THEM THE CONTROL OVER MY COMPUTER THAT THEY WANTED.
