I was contacted via text message telling me I was hired to complete an assignment to assess Walmart. I then received a cashier's check in the amount of $2470.29. I was told in a letter to deposit the check and then go to 2 Walmart stores to buy gift cards. I did not go through with this and was able to discover that many people have fallen prey to this scam and lost around $2000 each.
