I had the exact same experience! Offering $55 per hour as financial analyst with no experience in this career. Received fake offer and W4 which I completed and sent back. Download Chatwork and when they got to the part about sending me a check for the equipment something didn't sound right which brought me here!

They want to pay me $55 an hour to work remotely as a Customer Service Rep. Then they sent me a check (to buy needed equipment) in an amount over $4600.00. Then, when the bank put a hold on the check, they wanted me to "front" a percentage of the money so I could get started right away. I told them I'd have to wait until the check cleared. No further conversation after that! Still waiting for that check to clear...

Fake job offer-request WIRE app to communicate

Scammer received information through a response to a job posting on Indeed. I believe they setup a different fake company mimicking a real one that I applied to. Once they had my resume they used my phone number to text me saying they had found me on a job board and to download the Wire app (which I had never heard of) for communication.

They sent me a job description to my personal e-mail which looked suspect. It listed exactly how much the job was paying by hour which is somewhat uncommon. There was no signature to the e-mail, it looked very unprofessional.

The text I received and the e-mail were identical, meaning a cut and paste from the text to the e-mail, which is very strange.

I read other reviews on this site from other scam health care companies using the Wire app, and it appears to be the same person or at least the same tactics.

They required me to download the "Signal" messaging app to communicate. Then they sent me a check for over $4,600. Then, when the bank put a hold on the check, they asked that I provide a percentage of that money up front to so I could purchase the required equipment. I told them I'd have to wait until the check cleared. Still waiting for that check to clear. No further conversation from their end!
