Web Envy DNS Fake Invoice Scam Reports & Reviews (14)

- Bar Harbor, ME, USA

A faxed invoice came in from Web Envy DNS for Managed Domaine Name Services with an Annual Fee due of $344.25. The invoice looks legitimate with an invoice number, account number, due date, etc. but this is not a company we've ever done business with & when you search online it comes up listed as scam on MANY websites.

- Wells, ME, USA

We received a fax of an invoice from Web Envy DNS stating we needed to renew our Managed Domain. They had an account number, an invoice number and also talked about "Rollover" in the invoice to make it look like we were a current customer. We have Never been a customer of theirs.

- Flowood, MS, USA

Client received a Fax from this company that contained Domain information and was requesting a renewal cost for the year.

The client is not hosted by this company

- Ridgeland, MS, USA

The victim received a fax with an invoice from 'Web Envy DNS' for 'Managed Domain Name Services' with an indicated one-year renewal. The amount of the invoice was $344.25 total. The line item for the DNS service was $359.99 before discount and sales tax. The victim has never done business with this 'Web Envy' and has no active services with them. The invoice makes it appear that the victim already has services with this provider and this is simply a one-year renewal.

- Hartford, CT, USA

A Fax was submitted to our business. A "ligitmate-looking" invoice for inernet/website services. An untrained eye could be fooled easily

- Claremore, OK, USA

We received a fax that looks just like an invoice and it is for a domain name service which we use google so I had to verify that this was never a bill that we had paid. It looks like a legitimate bill and I can assure you that someone out there has probably thought this was an actual bill. We are a small business and I am the office manager so thankfully I know what bills we receive on a regular basis and what is not a bill and a scam.

- Tulsa, OK, USA

They sent us a 'bill' via fax for services we have already purchased from someone else.

Bill as if it is a 'renewal' even though we have never done business with them.

- Weatherford, OK, USA

Faxed an annual invoice for "Managed Domain Name Services". 1-year renewal for a primary domain, name server, name server 1, and 2. No idea what this annual charge would be for. Never signed up for this, nor spoke to anyone via phone, email, etc.

- Mount Pleasant, IA, USA

We received a fax for an invoice due at the end of the month for "Managed Domain Name Services" for the year, totalling 344.25 with tax. The layout appeared to be like one that would be mailed via USPS in an envelope (tri-folded). There was no indication in the "small print" that would indicate an "advertisement" for services. Just a bill-like invoice. I've never heard of this company, and we do not do business with them at all. I called the number, which prompted me to contact them via email a few times, then appeared to have my call routed to an agent queue, but it ended after about a minute and prompted me to leave a message.

- Oklahoma City, OK, USA

We were sent a fake invoice (NOT an advertisement of "what they could do for us", one that really looked like an invoice we owed) for a web domain listing payment being owed. We know the business we use for this service and it is NOT Web Envy DNS. They made it look very official and convincing and I'm sure other people would fall for it. Good thing we didn't have any record of them existing in our files.

They also go by many Texas addresses online.

- Muskogee, OK, USA

Fake invoice for website domain services.

- Manhattan, KS, USA

A faxed invoice came through addressed to a former executive (still partial owner). The invoice had accurate business information included in the invoice, but our accounting department knew this is not the company we use for our domain services. There's nothing listed on the faxed invoice, even in fine print, about this not being a sample statement instead of a real invoice.

- Silver Spring, MD, USA

Received unsolicited fax suggesting I needed to renew our corporate domain's DNS services with them. We do not use them and never have.

- Paola, KS, USA

We received a fax with an invoice for $344.25 for Managed Domain Name Services
