USA Passport Online Reports & Reviews (10)

- Kimberly, ID, USA • Jan 16, 2026

I applied for a passport for my husband and I for the 1st time. I searched web on how to apply, and this site came up. I went to the website, https://passport.usapassportonline.org/passport-v3 to complete the forms. After completing forms it asked for credit card. I assumed this was owed for the passport, however when the email came back from the site, mailto:[email protected]

it says I would need to still pay the actual 135.00 for the passport .

The email had the form attached to print the completed for the passport application.

I then called a friend who has been thru the process and alerted me to the scam.

After searching for "passport renewal" online, this website https://usapassportonline.org/, looks official and mimics the .gov website almost exactly. It promises this:

This actually only takes your information, then charges you for it to put it into a pre-filled form. It sends you the form, and tells you to follow the directions on the form - which is to pay the government entity the normal price for your passport renewal. You're really paying them to put your personal and identifiable information onto a form and email it to you. That is it. Then they have that information stored, plus your credit card information.

- Canton, OH, USA

This website is listed at the top of your Google search if you search for anything pertaining to obtaining a passport. It mimics a US government agency, but it is not. The "service" they provide is taking all of you personal information and writing 3 lines of info onto a PowerPoint and sending it to you. They charge you over $60 dollars for this "service" and now God knows who has my information. Shame on me for not paying more attention to what I was doing. BBB, shut this website down!

- Saint Paul, MN, USA

This website is sponsored at the top of the Google search. I didn’t realize that and thought it was the government website. I entered all personal information for online passport renewal. Once I tried to enter payment, it gave me a red message at the top “insufficient funds” which caught my attention because I was using a credit card, not a debit card. I tried to submit payment twice before it felt off. So far, I have not received any email and my credit card was not charged, but all of my information has been compromised.

- Denver, CO, USA

Thought we were renewing a passport and the website looked legitimate, but it ended up being a scam. Didn’t realize it until after we received an email with the form filled out that we still needed to send to the passport office and pay.

- Lehi, UT, USA

Thought I was on the government website. They have my Social Security Number and personal details and credit card info. When I hit "Submit Application" I got an email saying they filled out my forms and I could mail them in and I immediately checked the url and realized i wasn't on the government site. I immediately disputed the charge on my credit card. I responded to their email confirmation that said I could reply for customer service but the email failed to be delivered.

- Woodbridge, VA, USA

I googled passport renewal and this was the top site shown by google. I completed the questions and paid and they emailed me a completed PDF application with directions to print and mail in with payment to the gov for 130.00

- Provo, UT, USA

They appeared to be the government agency where one would renew one’s passport online. After payment was made, a pdf was generated to mail in. The product advertised was passport renewal, but a form was all that was given. And more information was requested than necessary for renewing a passport.

- Portland, OR, USA

I thought I was at the US State website and renewing my passport application online. They ran a charge through for $67.88 and then emailed me the pdf of the regular applicaiton to mail in.

I emailed them and received an error it was undeliverable. I called and there were no service agents to take my call (321-730-2189)

Will contact my bank and dispute the charge too. Really frustrating

Fraudulent website. It is designed to deceive people into thinking it is a US Government site when in reality all it does is automate an autofill form and charges $70 and makes you think that it's the passport fee when it's just an automated autofill fee.

The disclaimer is not upfront it's at the end and it should be upfront that it is not a US Government site and it just assists in the filling out the application and there will be an additional fee for the passport. None of this is mentioned upfront or in any sort of obvious way unless you scroll the entire site which no one does and it's part of the scam. When you click the apply now the disclaimer and explanation should appear.

The contract is invalid because there's no meeting of the minds. The intend and reason for payment was to apply for a passport, not get assistance in filling out a form.
