Received a voicemail from a male with a *** *** accent, claiming to work for the US Treasury Department. He proceeded to say that there was an enforcement action needing my serious attention. Ignoring it would be considered an offense warranting appearance in front of a federal judge/grand jury. He told me to call back at the number from which he had called: 609-961-1439

Many calls and voice mails from 609-423-1135 claiming to be from the US Treasury Department saying we will face felony charges and have to attend a hearing if we do not comply. Foreign sounding voice answered when called back claiming to be Michael James. Hung up when I told him he was a fraud and that I had filed a complaint to the FTC.

This is the second call I have received. I can't really understand the person (male). This time, I called the number back (856-537-3121) I refused to tell the man my name, but did tell him that the message was on the recorder. He did say his ID number was 114797 and that he was from the Treasury Dept. I told him that the treasury dept. does not contact people by phone and that we had been warned about a scam and then hung up on him.

I received a voice mail from David Gray telling me to call him back at 702-637-1500. He claimed that I owed money to the US Treasury Department and that this was their second and final attempt to make contact before a warranty was to be issued for my arrest. Call the number back and it was a woman's voice with an Indian accent.

Consumer received a call from someone pretending to be US treasury Department saying that she

would need to appear before a magistrate judge or a grand jury for a

An Indian speaking man called and said he was with the US Treasury and was calling me about going to court for unpaid taxes. I knew it was a scam.

Consumer reported that he received a phone call from an individual claiming to be with the US Treasury Department.  The individual stated that, if the consumer did not pay $5,400 immediately, then the consumer would be arrested.  The consumer stated that he would like to send a check to pay for the taxes owed.  The individual demanded that the consumer not pay via check but instead, send his payment via Western Union.  At this point, the consumer realized that the phone call was not legitimate and ended the call.

The caller claims to be from the US Treasury Board and states that if you don't pay up outstanding amounts owing you will go to jail. The phone number was 530-217-1121

2/10/16, 1:15 eastern standard time. We just got a phone call from 504-535-5920 stating his name is Steve Martin and was from the US Treasury department. He had an accent and the line had an echo. He said ignoring this message would result in a criminal offense. I did not pick the phone up, realizing that it was probably a scam.

Steve Martin from us treasury dept saying he is enforcing a action from treasury dept and if we don't respond it could result in an federal criminal offense. Called twice- not the first time we have gotten this call it also happened months ago. Number he said to call back was 631-729-5843.

Received a call from (1-202-243-0236) someone claiming I was selected to win a $9,000 Federal Grant gave me a activation code and told me to call a Mr Haenzl McCrea a Sr Treasurer @ 360-780-3803 with US Federal Government he instructed me to go to the closest Western Union with a $230 security deposit making it clear that it was not actually a payment that as soon as I received the grant money I would get it back. I was to go to the Western Union Office right away with the money and call Mr McCrae back fro the parking lot and not tell anyone in the WU how much money I was expecting in and he would give me further instructions.

They had my cell phone number, name, State and zip code I live in. They said I was one of 1700 people that was given this grant but they really did not have a good reason for me to have received it. Something about paying bills and not filing for bankruptcy.

Received a called from Annie Smith Operator # 11536 stating that the IRS had turned my case over to the US Treasury Department for past due taxes for 2010-2011 in the amount of $7,521. The caller had a very thick accent and spoke to me in a threatening manner saying that the sheriff would be at my door in 45 minutes to arrest me and that they did not want any payment to resolve the matter. I asked why I received no notice in the mail and the caller stated that all notices were returned. After another minute of threats she said that she would ask her supervisor if they could accept payment of $7,521 and of course they could. She then asked me to leave my mobile phone on speaker and to leave immediately for my bank. I would be given instructions on where to mail the money. I toyed around with the caller making them believe that I planned to pay and that my mobile phone battery was too low to talk. The caller then promptly called me back on my home phone and asked that I charge my mobile phone before leaving the home. I then informed Annie Smith that I have been recording our conversation and that the call was being traced. She promptly hung up. This scammer had my home address, name, mobile number and home number.

Man calling himself David Gray left threatening call / message regarding enforcement action executed by collections office of US Treasury Dept and i must call him. He stated that if I ignored the call I would be subject to enforcement action and appearance before magistrate or federal judge. He left phone number 754-263-4907.

Had an accent.

A man with a thick Indian accent, named "David Matthews" from the Treasury Department called to tell me that there is a problem with my 2012 tax return. He asked if I had received any other notices and seemed surprised when I said "no". I didn't give him my name, but he knew it. He said that his Federal ID # is: 11414. I told him that it was strange that a man with a thick Indian accent was named "David Matthews". Once I told him that I would check out this information with my friend in the Secret Service, he suddenly hung up.

I received a voicemail from the "US Treasury Department." They said this is the second time they've tried to get a hold of me, and that I needed to call a certain phone number. They said if I don't, I could have to go before a magistrate judge or grand jury for a federal criminal offense.
