On 9/13, I posted a request for gutter repair referrals on NextDoor.com. Aaron Patterson, representing Unified Hardscape Pros, LLC, offered a free quote. I had Aaron visit my house, he seemed knowledgable and gave a good quote in writing. I accepted the quote, which indicated he would start the job on 10/13, and paid a $660.10 down-payment via Zelle. Aaron didn't show up or call on 10/13. I called him and asked what was going on. He explained it had been raining, which was true, but said he could have called. He apologized and said he would call first thing in the morning on the 16th and would give me a start date. On 10/16, he didn't call first thing in the morning, so I called him. He said he would be at my house the next day at 10AM. I told him not to bother, just refund what I had paid and we'd call everything off. He said he'd get a refund on the materials he had purchased, then refund my down-payment by 10/20. On 10/20, I sent Aaron a Zelle request to pay $660.10 and he paid $410.60 of the total. I told him I wanted a full refund and sent him a Zelle request to pay $249.50. He has not paid that. In the meantime, I found 3 others who were scammed by Aaron Patterson via the Facebook and NextDoor sites. It only took about an hour to find them and the total amount I found is around $4,000. I'm sure there's much more that I didn't find.
