I answered a work from home job ad on a “work from home” group on Facebook. I was told to download the signal app and to reach out the this provided number and give them this code also provided. I was connected with a person named Ronald Grahmn who was to be my immediate supervisor the person I would report to daily. He had me answer interview questions all via text, no phone call or verbal communication took place there. I was offered a data entry job for $38.44/ hour and $19.10/ hour during my two week training. Ronald then asked how I wanted to be paid, I said cash app, he said no problem. Then he said let me check to see if cash app is affiliated with our vendor who has the equipment you will need to get. He asked me to list off other banks in my local area and I did, I rattled off maybe 8 different banks and he replies saying no, how about BMO bank how far are you from there. I said not far and agreed to go the next day tk open an account. Ronald stated that I needed tk open an account with a debit card and I needed to provide him with all of that information so he could put money into the account so I could purchase the work equipment needed. Ronald said I would recieve a job description offer letter by email and to check for that, sign it, and email it back.

As I slept on it that night however, I became overwhelmed with anxiety and a bad feeling so the following morning I sent Ronald a message withdrawing my acceptance of the position and would be going a different direction. He became agitated and said “well we have a child support program for you and also just know you don’t have to work for us in order to get paid”. I inquired briefly about how I would still be paid without doing work, he did not answer me. Instead he asked if I opened that bank account at BMO and then called me via video call on signal, I did not respond. He also tried texting, j again did not respond.

I’ve attached the job offer letter below.
