Two by Two Lagotto Scam

I signed a contract and paid a $500 deposit to get a puppy from Sonia Lopez of Two by Two Lagotto in February 2021. The contract guaranteed a puppy within one year. In November 2022, I was offered a chocolate lagotto. However, that dog didn’t work out. In April 2023, I was offered a white and brown lagotto. I paid the remaining $4,000 in March 2023. After paying the full price, I was told the puppy wasn’t approved by the vet to go home. I was told I would get a puppy from the next litter. Two litters passed, and I still didn’t get a dog. Sonia Lopez shared a sob story via text as she refused to answer my calls or emails. It’s July 2023, and I haven’t gotten the $4,500 refund I requested a month ago. I was texted by Sonia that she chatted with her merchant services and there’s nothing she can do to expedite the process. It’s been 4 months since I paid for a Lagotto I never received. Do NOT purchase a dog from Two by Two Lagotto!

This exact same thing happened to me, but with a longer timeliness.

I put a $500 deposit down in late 2020. I was put on the spring 2021 list, but asked to be pushed to the next list as I would be moving in 2021.

Finally, I was told I was on the list for spring *2023* and was matched with an actual puppy. I filled in all the forms, I went through all of Sonia's mandatory trainings, sent the payment for the puppy, booked my flights, and purchased all of the extras that Sonia had on her list of necessities.

Right before I was to pick up the puppy (approx. 2 weeks) I was told that she was no longer a good fit and had a high prey drive and I would not be receiving the puppy. I opted transfer my payment for a puppy from the summer litters which were to be born in May. My only preference was that this time the puppy be female.

At the end of May, I emailed Sonia asking for news as I should have heard something by then. She had dogs whelping and would get back to me.

June 19th, well after the puppy should have been born, I received a very long email from Sonia saying her farm was having issues, and there were issues within her breeding program. I was offered the option to continue to wait or receive a refund. I opted for the refund as being the person who paid in full in FEBRUARY I should have been priority for matching in MAY. She continues to post adorable puppies on her Two by Two Lagotto Facebook page, so she does have puppies available, just not for those of us who paid full price apparently.

It's now almost September, and I have still not received a refund, and because she has had my money for over 6 months, I can no longer do a charge back through my credit card. Conveniently, the gap between when I paid and the litter I was shifted to was well over my card's 90 day charge back limit.

I have been patient. I have been understanding that dogs are living, unpredictable things and things just sometimes happen. However, the incredibly easy solution to this is to not charge people until the day of pick up. Instead, she's still taking $500 deposits and reservations for puppies.

DO NOT PAY TWO BY TWO LAGOTTO FULL PRICE UNTIL YOU HAVE THE PUPPY IN YOUR HANDS.

Dog breeder will make you pay 500 wait on a list for years to get a puppy then once the puppy is born Sonia will take the remaining payment for the dog which is thousands of dollars, then a week before pick up she will send you an email telling you the dog isn’t a good family dog and that you will have to wait for the next liter in 4-5 months. But in reality she has double/triple sold the dogs to other buyers. Sonia Lopez is a scammer and runs a puppy mill.

This same thing happened to me! I’m still waiting for a refund of my $4,500 for a Lagotto puppy I was supposed to get from Sonia Lopez of Two by Two Lagotto in March 2023. I signed my initial contract and paid my $500 deposit in February 2021. Twice I’ve been sent pictures of puppies who were supposed to be mine only to be told in writing something was wrong with them. I’ve yet to receive a phone call to clear the issue up, to offer an apology, or to get my refund to me. At this point I just want my $4,500 back!
