My husband received 4 letter from TRS Recovery Services, a debt collection agency, stating that he wrote 4 checks totaling in the amount of $2514.00 to Ulta in Georgia and then stopped payment on them. My husband is 74 and we live in California . Throughout the internet , there are innumerous complaints about this company scamming people with this bogus story of amounts due. They further threaten you if you don't pay these claims , they will report this to the credit bureaus and ruin your credit rating. I urge anyone who receives these fraudulent claims to contact your bank and then request a validation of debt from this company. Don't let them get away with this. It is extortion.

They called my number at work and asked "Is this *****." I said yes assuming a business contact only to have them disconnect the call. I tried calling them and the number rings busy. I've heard that there is a scam if you say yes they record it and use it against you later.

Letter said I owed money for a bank overdraft, which is not the case.

I called TRS and they put me on hold and I finally hung up when they could not find the reverence number in their records. This was a reference number that was on the paperwork that they sent to me.
