My friend referred my husband and I to use “Tito Rodriguez” for landscaping, we messaged with him to meet for a quote of our backyard and we thought it was a deal, it was a lot cheaper than other quotes we have been given and our friends told us he has done work for police departments and other close co workers so we thought it was safe, we gave him a deposit up front since he said he books up very quick and would need to buy materials for turf and nails. We gave him 1200 in cash and we got a recipet from him. Furthermore a couple days later we were asking our friends when their yard will be done since it was supposed to be done that week. They said Tito has been running behind on another project and had to go finish that first. They were about 4 days behind and then my friend asked me if I had heard from Tito and that he had completed ghosted them since Tuesday. I also had not heard from him and he apparently left my friends house and mentioned he had to go get more turf and would return at 2pm but he never came back. They were calling, texting and emailing him and he had gone blank. He also would not answer my calls and would go straight to voicemail. It is now Friday and have received no contact. I had done some researching on Tito Rodriguez who’s instagram is under Rodriguez_paving, and turns out he was posted 4 times on Nextdoor for not completing work and ghosting people after getting deposits for work. I reached out to multiple people about him and he has scammed numerous amounts of people for thousands of dollars. We are extremely saddened by this and cannot believe why he would do this to people buying their first houses just trying to get their yard landscaped. We have made a police report and will continue to make more Nextdoor posts, report him to the attorney general and whatever needed to stop him from scamming others. The only jobs he ever finished was a lady found on instagram who got her yard done and her husband is a police officer. Tito Rodriguez is a thief and has strung along many people. He dropped off tons of rocks to my friends house and has left her with nothing else except her 4 thousand dollars stolen and his broken wheel barrow he left behind. Tito’s brother Filemon Rodriguez may have done work with Tito in the past, as his email is blocked for a scam, I have tried to contact his brother and I have received no response.
