Type of a scam Online Purchase

I downloaded an app to my cell phone late on the evening of January 12, 2024, that should have allowed me to cast images from that device to my Smart TV. This is supposed to be a free app. There was a link within that app that required some identification before proceeding, in this case a credit card number. I entered my Master Card number and a message popped up that their system didn't recognize that number. I then entered a second card and got a similar message, at which point I decided I wasn't going to pursue this any further. The next morning, I received text messages from both credit card companies wanting to know if I had authorized payments of $2.99 to two different companies. The app accessed belongs to AirBeamTV, also known as Screen Mirroring App For Android to TV. Neither charge was requested by that company. Rather, one was requested by RNGYRLVVRTM.COM, which is a company called New Carnaby Inc, 5627 Kanan Rd #410, Agoura Hills, CA, 91301, and the other by trntpnlng.com which is actually Pavie Nine Specialties Inc, 17722 Vanowen St #5 Reseda, CA 91335. Although both charges were declined by my credit card companies, I pursued the matter as I did not recognize either company, nor authorized any payment to them. Their websites are identical, as are their chat sites, an indication they are under the same company umbrella. When contacted, both gave me the same spiel: my "membership number was not approved because your credit card company declined the charge." Since I did not request memberships from these companies, I have to assume they have either hacked AirBeamTV or are in league with them to collect unauthorized charges off a person's credit card. When pressed for details about the company, both chat participants quickly became evasive and ended the chat.
