Type of a scam: Debt Collections

This entity continues to call me alleging that a family member allegedly owes money they are attempting to collect. They play a fake message each time before the call goes to the same man. The message indicates false claims, such as "[t]here's currently a motion being filed to suspend all bank accounts and tax returns," which is not even possible, nor has ever been attempted. This is used as a fear tactic to get you to comply with the scammer's demands.

"This is not a solicitation. Please listen to this message in its entirety. There's currently a motion being filed to suspend all bank accounts and tax returns bearing your name and Social Security number. To review all immediate rights and details and avoid further proceedings, please contact our firm at 888-461-3452 or you may press one to be transferred to your case manager and immediately." The address being used appears to be fake, and there is no company on record in California registered with the business name "Trinity Everest & Associates" based on a business search on the state's website. It is highly advised you do not pay them anything and report them to *** at West Telcom who is currently providing phone service at *** asking him to shut all numbers down.
