After finding a price that was appealing for two passengers I contacted Travoport for American Airlines tickets. I approved my purchase by providing my credit card information. Shortly thereafter I was contacted by a Travoport representative who informed me that our tickets would not allow for any cancelations nor would it allow for any carry-on baggage or luggage whatsoever beyond a purse or wallet. they then proceeded to offer upgrades that would allow for luggage ranging from $1,600, $1,000 then down to $500. beyond the price originally agreed upon. After checking through all materials claimed to state that no luggage would be allowed I found none anywhere. The representative knew this was a problem as he stated that "they deal with people making this complaint all of the time". He refused to discuss this statement further.

I requested to speak with his supervisor only to find the same line of discussion repeating as before. This call ended with no satisfaction. within the hour I was called back where in an attempt was made to upgrade my flight again with cost exceeding the doubling of costs to include luggage. I stated again that we would keep the original ticket arrangement without luggage. Thinking that I would UPS my belongings to our hotel. Unfortunately the call abruptly ended with no assurance that our flight arrangements were validated. I contacted our bank to inform them of this interaction and was told to call back once funds were withdrawn from our account. Can someone please investigate this practice which appears to be "Bate-and-Switch" by this business to help others avoid difficulties from this business and others like it.?
