on top of all of this, their cottage was extremely dangerous and unsafe to be staying in. the deck was verry unstable and about to collapse. inside the electrical was definitely not up to code. for example we could not have all the kitchen lights on or they would all flicker. the electrical panel in a basement bedroom was exposed and sketchy looking. the septic tank was for sure full. when someone flushed a toilet, the kitchen sink and washer would make loud gurgle noises. the lid of the septic tank outside was also cracked and there was fecal matter bubbling out of it which smelled awful. only one shower could be used at a time as there was no water pressure in the house. there was a small bunkie beside the cottage we also used which had multiple mice in the walls. the guests ended up sleeping inside the cottage on the couch because they couldn't stand to listen to the mice scratching the walls all night.
