I booked what I thought was a private apartment on Expedia, specifically looking for a place with my own bathroom and kitchen. Imagine my surprise when I found out it was actually a shared space with four other guys. The property manager called me just a few hours before I was supposed to check in, casually mentioning this shared living situation and then asking for a hefty $449 damage deposit through Zelle – which, needless to say, I refused. Then, they tried to upsell me to a room with a private bathroom for an extra $40, which just felt even more suspicious.

Honestly, the whole thing felt like a total bait and switch and incredibly unprofessional. The advertising was completely misleading. I immediately contacted Expedia to report this false advertising because I don't want anyone else to fall for this. It was such a disruptive experience and is genuinely unsafe. It's not even an actual hotel either- it's just some people trying to make a quick buck off of visitors in the area. Uncruplous and manipulative business tactics, it's disappointing that this place is advertised and reccomended on so many ubiquitous platforms.
