Trade Show Planners reached out to members of our team and advertised themselves as affiliated with the trade show we had just signed on to sponsor. They also said they were affiliated with a local hotel, and were selling rooms for this event (in retrospect, at exorbitant prices). When proceeding to book a room with them, we noticed something was off. They first asked for our credit card number through email, then proceeded to say their credit card machine was broken and we would need to send them our banking info--FISHY. When we contacted the trade show, they said they were not affiliated Trade Show Planners, nor was the local hotel. We immediately told them to cancel our booking and booked tickets elsewhere are a significant discount.
