Employment Offer - Fake Check Scam

I initially saw the company was looking for models for a fashion campaign for one of their clients named "Sihui Hongyun Footwear Supply Co". Because the listing had an email address to a domain it looked legitimate so I pitched to them through email. The contract and POC named "Stein Boris" seemed legitimate although it was strange and a red flag that they wanted to use a check to cover their amount due to me. They attempted to scam me for $2650 via requesting an e-check be deposited into the bank and used to cover the model booking for myself as a model ($800) and studio booking fee ($1850). It was odd that a client would ever send a deposit through requesting me to deposit a check on their behalf instead of sending an ACH, Zelle, or card payment.
