I was contacted in my student email about a job opportunity and the application was a google form. A week later, a "Dr. Vaughn Lee" contacted me, They asked for me to scan a couple virtual checks and deposit it, and to take out $300 for myself as payment (I did not). Later they kept asking me to buy ebay cards and steam gift cards. They used the email [email protected] to give me my 'instructions' for their tasks. They also threatened me through their so-called Department of Funds Disbursement and Finance through the email [email protected], saying I'll lose my studentship at my university.

I was initially contacted through my student email about a work study opportunity. I recently had lost my other job so I thought this was a great opportunity since it offered to work remotely, therefore I would be able to focus on school while working. They used various emails like [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]. They first asked to get business checks and print one out with the information they would later send . They also asked for me to deposit it into my bank account but when I saw the amount I got suspicious and didn’t do it. I questions them about it and they said I would deduct $400 for myself as my weekly pay and have the rest to buy them what they wanted.
