Type of a scam Tech Support
- said they were Microsoft support service provider
- said they needed to remote access to my computer to show me issues with software they installed
- I agreed
- they took control of my desktop, erased backup history, installed startup script with admin privilege and set private password
- I said remove software give back control
- when the did I could not get startup to work without using admin password
- they had me at this point want $150 for 2 yr support, then discount to $50, I agree and gave credit card info
- 2 hours later they were still trying to install and clean desktop so I shut it down
- desktop now turned off,
- got cc company to cancel charges
- am now having expert either clean desktop or I will replace
- also am now contacting all email, bank, cc, credit bureau, etc.
