I was directed to a Canon support centre and told a technician would call me right back. Got a call for assistance to get my printer working. Then, I was told to share my computer and they would clean up the junk so my printer could work again. During this time a protection plan was described to me for $ 200 USD a one time deal for cleaning up the computer. They also said I need to make my passwords stronger. I paid the money by credit card. Billed under the name Royal Care Technologies Private Limited. I didn't think anything of it.

Called for support a second time only to get the same offer from another person who proceeded to tell me I got scammed. The company is in Mumbai, India. I had better call my credit card company to ask for a charge back. So, I did. Felt the need to report this so it doesn't happen to anyone else.
