I received a text message stating "Payment received #Antivirus# for Your "NORTON" Subscription was used for a $387.15 charges on 02-26-2025. Ref#: 4SZRY2PDQT. Contact +18064714448 if needed".

I did not select or click on any links within the text, instead I visited us.norton.com, Where unfortunatley the scam is within Norton itself. An agent answered the phone and once I detailed the suspicious text, they did not even offer Support to ensure I had no account, they immediatley went to say "yes someone is using your information, So can you please tell me what computer you are using so we can run a scan to protect your information".

I had to remind the agent to please ensure my information is erased and to ask What additional information she's sees in my name, the agent stated my phone #and my name stating an attempt was made, but she did not even go into detail how, when and what additional information she see's in my name. She did not go into detail of assurance, security steps, deletion, confirmation....nothing. She didn't detail how to tell official Norton contact versus scam.

She kept repeating the same repetition statement of my permission to scan my computer, & wanting to know the brand I was using. Once I gave her my phone number and my name, she did not even want to go even into detail about the text message scam and what information she sees & and how norton will be moving forward in ensuring everything in my name is deleted.

Once I let her know that I can call the brand customer service of my computer company, I don't need her support in that, but I want her support on the scam....She refused stating "no I need to scan your computer".

I refused again and she hung up the phone. The number I called was after I Google searched norton customer service, The website itself is suspicious. The website is us.norton.com and the number is 18282705900.

Scammer somehow got my moms email and sent her a bill. They said she signed up for a one time "free" anti-virus check and that this is now her re-occuring bill. When called, they seemed shady as they tried to get me to share information on my computer so they could get me to the "cancellation" form that I needed to fill out on behalf of my mom. I called the Geek Squad HQ and they'd confirmed the email "sent from" address was definitely a scam as the never use personal emails....e.g. gmail accounts
