On April 2, 2024 I called “Norton” after being scammed online by another scammer pretending to be YouTube. I was changing my credit card number due to the original scam and this company told me I should get better coverage online and should purchase their Norton 360 on three of my devices. They proceeded to charge me $350 for a three year subscription and take over my computer, iPhone and iPad to install it. The technical support person gave me the phone number 877-245-3118 to follow through if I ever had any questions or problems. In December 2024 I received a bill from Norton for $125 for services. I called and told them that I already had their three year plan for $350 and they reversed the charges. In February 2025 I was charged again by Norton for $105. I called to dispute that charge and was called back by someone who was not Norton who offered to get my money back, but couldn’t refund my $105 until I returned from vacation so they could access my computer. When I came back from vacation on March 17, they proceeded to take over my computer. They told me they wanted to refund the $350 plus the $105 to my bank account online and I said no. They then convinced me to take two target cards out for $760, which they would then refund my $350 as well as my $105. All of this, I realized was bogus only after I followed their directions. I called my credit card company and lost the money on my Target cards because they cashed them. The name they gave me was Brad and his phone number was 260-207-4847. My credit card company gave me the helpline for Norton. I called them and after the last few days, I’ve had them go through my computer, phone and iPad and removed any desk, ultra viewer and guest glance and made sure there were no hidden apps on my phone and iPad to access my information. I fear they have already gotten my information. They told me they knew nothing about the company micro tech however, I asked when my Norton 360 was installed and they said April 3/4, which is exactly when micro tech installed my Norton 360 on my computer, phone, and iPad. I have gone online for the micro tech company and found two other customers who have had very similar stories. The $105 charge I found out is really from Norton for my 360 subscription. They don’t have any record of me paying $350 toward the installation of Norton 360, but they do recognize the fact that it was installed on April 3-4.
