I was contacted by a Mr.Vilas Joshi for employment as an office administrator for Sterling Biotech Ltd. I was interviewed via IM in Google hangouts and got the job. I was sent an offer letter which I signed and sent back with a copy of my ID only. I was told the job was in Miami, FL and that they could not disclose the office address because they were building the offices. I was also told a check would be sent to me from their financial department so I can buy the equipment and install the software. I was provided a FedEx tracking number and the check arrived this morning. The check is in the amount of $3650.00 and its a cashiers check with a remitter name of Brian Green. I have been uneasy since the employment offer letter was not as professional as I expected and what really put me on guard was the check is not a company check. I was instructed to deposit the check into my account and send them a copy of the deposit slip once done. I am reporting this because It doesn't feel right and I am afraid this is a scam.
