My gf applied to multiple jobs on Zip recruiter and got a text message yesterday about a job opportunity. She took the interview and got hired the next day. She got sent a “signing bonus” to pay for the equipment needed for the job. When she asked them for a number to call they never responded. My girlfriend then called the bank and they told her she can be responsible for fraud.

I was contacted by this company about a job position. They provided me with a check for $2450.67 to purch[censored] office equipment. Then, before the check cleared, they wanted me to purchase office equipment with my personal account from an unidentified vendor via cashapp or PayPal.

I received the exact same, did my briefing/interview through Microsoft Teams and got the job after review the very next day. Got an entry letter to sign contracts through email, I was so convinced and very excited, I've been looking for a new career set for quite some time. Just took a second option to do a little more research and I'm glad I did before going any further with confidential information. THANKS! 👍🏾
