Same thing. Saw the harp on FB. Identical story as posted previously. At the website chat, confirmed the harp, then sent them this message: "As it turns out, I have a friend who just left his job at the Sheriff's department out in central Nevada. He is driving a moving truck to Pensacola next week with all his things so he can start his new job here in Florida, but says he has plenty of room in the truck for the harp! Can you kindly send the mover's phone number and address, and I will send the sheriff to their facility."

Obviously, this was the last I heard from them. 🤣

I saw a Facebook Market place listing for a free Lyon & Healy Pedal Harp. It said it was free which seemed weird since those retail for $10k minimum. The woman in the listing named Toni Parr had only been on Facebook since 2025. Another red flag. She said that the harp was her sisters, it had belonged to her dead husband and she was giving it away. I offered to come and pick it up right away. She panicked and said that i had to email her sister Joyce Montgomery via email to discuss the harp. keep in mind that her Facebook profile has no posts and no friends. I emailed her fake sister and immediately got an email response. She told a long story about her dearly depart husband and how she loved to listen to him play the harp and wanted to find it a good home. I offered to come pick it up again. Then she emails back and says that it is in Carson City, Nevada (1,800 miles away) and that all I have to do is contact the moving company and pay for shipping. Another red flag. So I google sear the company. They don't exist. But when I follow the link in her email I end up on a website. The "sales manager" in the chat told me it would only cost $420 to ship and would arrive in 3 days. I told him it was a scam and that I reported him to the authorities and he disappeared. I reported the Facebook profile too. Beware! If something seems too good to be true, it probably is. Do not give these scammers your money.

They keep messaging me asking for money it was sad. I told them they wouldn't get a penny from me. What losers.

Free harp posted on Facebook. On inquiry, given an email adress for person’s sister and stated she was posting for her.

Email reply:

“ Thanks for your interest. The pedal harp belonged to my late husband. It holds significant sentimental value as it was a beloved instrument that he cherished deeply. Even though I'm not really musically inclined, I always enjoyed watching him play. However, due to my lack of musical connection, I have made the decision to find a new home for the harp rather than selling it. And I am looking to offer it to someone who can appreciate and care for it as much as he did.

I used to live with my husband in Nevada before his passing. Since then, I have moved away from there, but the pedal harp remains in Nevada with some movers. Initially, someone expressed interest in the harp but didn't follow through, which led me to leave it with the movers.

If you are interested in giving this special harp a new home, I can connect you with the movers to facilitate the move.

The harp is in a perfect condition and I believe that the harp should be appreciated by someone who values its history and beauty. Thank you for considering taking care of the pedal harp. I am hopeful that it will find a new owner who will cherish it as much as my late husband did.

On expressing my concern that it was a scam and I was declining. Received another email

“ You have not to worry about , it's 100% guaranteed.

I reached out to the movers now about transportation of the harp to your location.

The rep I spoke with said you should go on their website www.safemoverinc.com to chat with a live agent about rerouting the harp to your location.

They also said you should present my reference ID (B9CHC10HAR) letting the agent know that I referred you.

Thank you for considering taking this beautiful harp. I appreciate your willingness to take care of them.
