I received a text saying I owed a debt that wasn't paid to a company. It was to an insurance company that I had a bill with in the past. The bill is paid off. I looked up the company online and called a number that is online. It was for IC Systems. They kept asking who I got the text from, over and over again. They interrupted me the whole time. They kept saying that I owe a debt and that it must have shown up on my credit report for me to be contacting them. He didn't listen when I kept saying that I had received a text message. That is when I realized that this was definitely fake since he was trying to get me to agree with him, though I knew what I was saying was true. The person on the line tried to get me to give him my social security number in order to continue I said, "no thank you" and hung up. I then went to see if there is a report on my credit report and there isn't.
