Consumer found a 2019 Caterpillar 304E2 CR on RS Machinery LLC's website (rsmachinery.co) for $23,300.00 (well below standard pricing); with an additional $470.00 for shipping. The contacted an Alex White (701 581-4872) to purchase the equipment. They also received emails from a Madison Taylor ([email protected]). When asking to call and speak to Madison they were told she only communicates through email. To purchase the equipment they were to take the monies out of their bank accounts and put in in a 3rd party (WMP Logistic Trade LLC Escrow account - they could not go to pick up and pay for the Cat personally. There is a RS Machinery registered with the ND Secretary of State, but it is noted to be at a different address. They called the ScamPulse.com and it was determined that this was most likely a scammer fraudulently using the name of a legitimate business.

Saw an ad for a Cat 304E2 CR Excavator on Craigslist. I emailed and immediately got the handoff to 'Alexander White'. He told me I buy online throught their website. I was skeptical so I asked him to send me a picture of the business sign on the building. He did but I still was skeptical, so I called the 'office number'. Guess who answered. Alexander. With a heavy accent. So, I told him to go out to the machine, and Facetime me back, I want to see it run. He said they weren't allowed to Facetime......I hung up. I figured, with that price it was a scam.

I just wanted to clarify that we made a scheduled appointment and personally visited RS Machinery LLC. Everything was legitimate—machines were on-site, the staff was helpful, and we completed our purchase without any issues.

We understand that pricing can raise eyebrows, especially when it’s significantly below market value, but in our case, the equipment was part of a retirement sale and priced accordingly. The process went smoothly, and the machine was delivered exactly as promised.

Sometimes, communication preferences (such as not using FaceTime) are due to company policies or internal procedures—not red flags.
