We had agreed on 150 to "hold" the puppy in our name. I offered to send via money order, but she would only take zelle or paypal. I became more skeptical when she needed to use "her grandkid's and children's" zelle accounts to receive the money. She tried to reassure me that everything would be fine, and gave me her address so i would have it when it was time to pick up the puppy. An additional 150 was to be paid in cash when i came to pick up the dog. It would have been an additional 200-300 to have the puppy delivered. I sent her the first 150 and agreed to come drive there and then another 150 in cash.
She then wanted an additional 100 for some food and toys to send home with her.
A few days later, i declined the food additon and reaffirmed that i would still have the 150 cash for her at pick up. I expressed that the changes were concerning to me. Sometime later on that same day, she said she would refund me the first 150 since i clearly "dont trust the process."
Later still that day, she sent me an editted picture (clearly photoshopped) of a puppy next to my name written on a piece of paper with the words "this is your puppy i'm legit" handwritten on it. I became convinced of the scam, but tactfully offered to come pick uo the puppy today instead. She said no, and that she needed the other 150 upfront before i could come get the dog. I refused, and sent her screenshots of our previous discussions where she agreed to half up front, half upon pick up. I then recinded the sale, ablnd requested she refund my 150. She said she would; "Okay once I get the puppy rehoming I will definitely get your money refund"
