Through Indeed I applied for a remote data entry position with RoamFree Tours. I researched the company and found it to be legit. I received an email invitation to schedule a Zoom interview. Once that was done another email was sent directing me to pull my own credit report from CreditScore_com. It was explained that this was for their protection (credit score wouldn't need to be revealed) and this was their way of verifying "the legitimacy of all applicants". The email is below. Needless to say I didn't proceed beyond this point. No other business info - phone, address - was ever provided. The job title also changed slightly with each email. Thank you for scheduling your Hotel Booking Data Entry Specialist Job Interview with Mason ****** on Monday, December 16, 2024 12:45pm (Central Time - US & Canada). As part of our standard hiring process, we require all candidates to complete two mandatory steps prior to the interview. Please note that failure to complete these steps will result in the cancellation of your interview. Obtain your current credit report from CreditScore_com (they offer this service for free $0). This is necessary to verify your background and identity. We do not require your score—just the report itself. Once you have received the report, print it out and keep it on hand for the interview.
