I was asked to take a survey for research polls for California. When entering the website, I should have seen the generic “public opinion survey” title without any affiliation… that should have been a red flag. It asked general questions such as if I’m a registered voter and what county, then it takes me to a test video page of ice cream… I quickly closed this page automatically. But I don’t know what pandora box I opened… if that only gave the scammer the ability to see me or hack into my phone and gain information. I just know that seeing a test video of ice cream is not a normal thing for a political survey… hopefully nothing happened, but now I am concerned.
