I received an email inviting me to interview with the co founder (Mark) of the company (no company name is given). The interview is actually a zoom meeting with 100+ attendees. They sell you on their brand, company ethos, explain how their business works, promises easy commissions, and all you need is to pay for your mandatory travel agent license and they are able to offer it to you at a discount of $59. They make you sign up while you're on the call and confirm they have received your fee and then you can "move forward" with the company. They don't tell you that it's a monthly fee.

Then the have you register on their agent platform and you can begin your video training immediately. They promise high commissions and ease of use and have a very slick looking system. They are using polished, legitimate looking, platforms and their training materials are well produced. The final step in the process is to sign the independent contractor agreement. It was at this point I couldn't ignore the red flags and thought....before I give them anymore information (I did not share my SSN, DOB, driver's license, or any other information besides my debit card that has been cancelled already) I should do a little research. A quick search lead to multiple claims of fraud and claims that the whole thing is a scam.

I checked the Better Business Bureau (company is listed as: Book With Jacob) and they have an F rating, are not accredited, and the ScamPulse.com has asked them to provide proof of their claims of being an award winning #1 travel agency in the world. They never responded to the BBB.

They lure you in with a hour and a half long group "interview" which at the end they say they hire anyone who gets their "certification" which is a $59.00 a month worthless subscription. This is not a job interview this is a scam.

BWJ Agents is a scam! They make it seem legitimate. I found this job offer on Indeed, which details working remotely from home and booking reservations for hotels and travel. I sent my resume, and they contacted me very quickly, which seemed odd. "Edwin" sent me a link to join a meeting at my convenience. The next day, I joined the meeting, a live zoom meeting of "Jacob " explaining the pay, duties, and other details. It sounded too good to be true. After the presentation, there was an option to pay monthly or yearly, "Jaocb" had said he would not end the call until he had everyone provide him the "order number " to show that we paid for a travel license which didn't feel right. It felt like I was trapped so I chose the monthly option and then once it was over I called my back right a way to start a dispute to get that money back. As I looked into getting one it cost way less to get one than what would be 59.00$ per month (708 per year) or the yearly amount at a discount of 3-400$. I did some research and found reviews from people who paid but never received the classes or a refund. It's a shame how people do this. When I went to the ScamPulse.com to report the scam, they asked for the scam's location. BWJ Agents are smart; they list three different locations in Canada, making it difficult to pinpoint their actual location. If you look up the zip code and address they use, it's odd—they use a CA address. What I was able to find though was https://register.teambwj.com/customer-center

BWJ Agents is a scam targeting people who want to work from home. They noted that it's unusual to be required to pay a monthly fee to be "licensed" and that the license is granted through the company itself, which is suspicious.

I'm glad I didn't fall for it and I hope that others will NOT NOT NOT FALL FOR IT

BWJ Agents is a scam! They will definitely have you thinking its legit. I seen this job offer on indeed it is detailed about working from home remotely and booking reservations for hotel/traveling and I sent my resume and they contacted me very quickly which was odd. "Edwin" sent me a link to my email to join a meeting on my timing, I did- the very next day- just to see a pre-screen recording video it was "Edwin" speaking he was supposed to go over the pay, our duties etc it sounded to good to be true, went over how much we would make and just a presentation of the "job offer" well when that was over there is a option to pay monthly or yearly? That isn't right or feels right I then did my research on them and read a couple of reviews a man paid and never took the classes and they never returned his money. It's a shame how people do this. When I went to ScamPulse.com to report a scam they ask where the scam is from. They are smart they put 3 different locations in Canada so there's no way we can see where they are actually located, if you look up the zip code and the address they use its odd they use a CA address. I am glad I didn't fall for it.

I applied for a remote job on LinkedIn. The the company emailed me with a job that sounds to good to be true. But to start the job i had to pay a fee for the license and training.

I found this application through ziprecruiter.com (I've reported with them as well) under the name of WanderLuxe Escapes. Upon applying, you are sent an email to sign up for their mandatory webinar with HR to discuss what the job is and what to expect. A LARGE majority of the 30 minute webinar is the "HR" representative going over all the perks and essentially promising a 6-figure paycheck for their data entry travel agents with zero experience. The entirety of the webinar felt fishy and felt like a scam, and while in the "meeting" I further researched the company and found that who they claimed was the owner/founder was in fact not who was the owner/founder of WanderLuxe. I found other reports of those who unfortunately fell for the scam and spent money - upon seeing these reports, I promptly left the webinar 15 minutes in and was sent a follow-up email after the allotted 30 minute time frame provided. In this email, you are assured you are "the best fit" for this company and are then provided a website (https://register.bwjagents.com/sign-up-today) to join - which is a subscription based "job" where you have to pay a monthly fee, as well as a 1-time certification fee of 97$, only then will you receive "clients" and work. This is not WonderLuxe, but is in face a ruse by a company called BookWithJacob.
