Kathy Vingino from Nuworld Graphics LLC emailed me telling me there is an urgent hire for a proofreader position with the hiring manager Henry Gibson. She gave me his email [email protected] saying to email him for this opportunity. I emailed Henry and he emailed me a pdf of the job description. He then emailed me that he’d be happy to setup an online screening interview introduced by the Better Business Bureau via Microsoft Teams. During the Microsoft teams interview they had me take a questionnaire and provide my name, number, and address. Then Henry emailed me a contract with Raindrop letterhead signed by Jacques Spitzer. Also a w-4 form, emergency contact form, and direct deposit form with Raindrop letterhead. He asked me to print sign and email back.

Got this email:

There is a current job opening in one of our affiliated firms, RAINDROP, as a Proofreader and they are making an urgent hire for the position. Your resume was gotten via candidate search on Indeed, LinkedIn and Ziprecruiter. Then contacted Gabriel via email and he responded and we set up an interview. We did a chat interview, I took an online test/interview about my skills, and he told me to check in the next day. I already sensed this was a scam. Next morning they offered me the position and sent paperwork for all my personal tax info and direct deposit info (which i obviously did not send). I contacted Gabriel asking for an in-person video interview with the team before I accepted (I was just playing along at this point) and was told that would happen during my training. That's where I am now.
