I received a call and had a voicemail to call 1-800-613-1545 and reference case 50004580883. I did cal this number because I was not sure if we did have an outstanding invoice. They said Fister Distribution had an open invoice. I asked them to email me the invoice so I could get it approved. I never received an invoice but my email was hacked a day or 2 later. I got an email from a random contact that asked me to send any invoicing to a different email. I quickly informed my manager who changed my email password. We then informed the victim that I had not sent that email and to not open any attachments. It did not dawn on me until I received a scam phone call from someone pretending to shut off our utilities and tell me to call a random 1-800 number and reference a long code that these Quill collection calls were a scam. I believe that me giving this "collector" my email let them use my email to send fake invoices to some of my contacts. I have informed my coworkers to double check contact information because the phone numbers listed we not our office's.
