A warning popped up on my iPad stating I had Trojan spyware. Call this number. They claimed to offer security spyware for lifetime at $249.00 one time fee paid by check.

Yesterday, July 19, 2003, I got pop ups on my laptop and a loud voice message stating "do not try to turn off your computer, call the phone number provided on the screen". The phone number is: 1-877 829 3427. I did it, using my cellphone. It is Quickhelp24-7. People from Quickhelp24-7 asked for US $399 to fix it. They got access to my laptop and worked for a while. Then they told me that my laptop was hacked and the problem was fixed and they also installed a "security thing" on the device, which would protect the device for one year. They also asked me to browse Google Chrome a little bit and log into my email to see it is working. I did it. This morning, I received a call from them and asked me to send a money order (US $399) to them at Ultimate Store, P.O. Box 14025, St. Petersburg, FL 33713. I found it strange, because the company is located in New York, why I am asked to send money to Florida. I also asked them, when they receive my money, how will they know that this money is from me, not from anybody else, because they told me to only write "web services" in Memo of the money order. They did not answer the question directly, but only said that they had my information and that I don't need to worry. They also said that after they receive the money, they will call me back to confirm that they receive it. I feel something not right in there, so I googled Quickhelp24-7 and am astonished. Exactly the same thing happened to other people and it was just a scam. The scammers even installed malware files on their computers. They refused to pay for the scam, but scammers were blowing up their phones and emails, and were threatening to turn it to collection companies and further legal actions. So far, I have not sent money to them. But I wonder if they had stolen my information, like my email account and password, etc.. and that the "security" things they installed on my laptop are also malware files. I also wonder if I should give them the money or what consequences will occur if I refuse to pay them? In the whole process, I talked to 3 people, Alice, Shawn, and another lady, I forgot her name. Please help me. Thank you.
