Type of a scam Online Purchase

I found an article for this product in Google News, they are some kind of CBD gummy that is supposed to be especially helpful with joint pain, so when I clicked on their website to see what they're all about, they were running a sale and I decided I might as well order a couple bottles for my grandma and see if it helps with her arthritis. The entire disclosed purchase amount was $40. Of course, after I selected the product they tried to pitch several others before asking for any payment information. I didn't think too much of it until at the very, very bottom of the confirmation page the bill said $214! I was able to call a phone number and cancel the order, but they tried offering me 30% off to keep the order and then 50% off when I declined. I finally got them to cancel it and refund my money... Hopefully. This is not an honest company.

Type of a scam Online Purchase

I ordered Pure Kana CBD gummies online at their website. At no point did I sign up for a subscription. My understanding was that I was making a one-time purchase with my credit card. The following month I received an email alerting me to the fact that I had been charged for an additional order of gummies in the amount of $217.58. I immediately called the customer service # at 1(855)430-7394. I was refunded my money immediately, but when I mentioned I was going to be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau, I could tell I was the not first person this had happened to. When I used the word "scam," the customer service representative from India stated that it was not a "scam" given that I was so easily refunded my money. I explained to her that a scam is when you are signed up for a subcription that you did not agree to. She told me that I was notified by email and therefore it was with my permission. I pointed out that I'm sure there are plenty of people that don't catch the email and it could have easily gone to my spam and I might not have seen it and receiving an email does not give a company permission to sign me up for subscription that I did not willingly sign up for.
