Puppy Scam Reports & Reviews (638)

This is a puppy scam. Initial payment for Mike, a Havanese puppy pictured as available for purchase on the website, was sent to Ivory using the Zelle app. This was $650 for the puppy and included a $100 processing fee for shipping. Then I was contacted by US Fastest Pet Shipper advising me that the original shipping crate for the dog to travel via airlines called Ocean Logistic was inadequate and needed to be upgraded to a crate costing $1500. They assured me the fee would be returned upon delivery of the puppy to our home. This money was sent in two separate payments via Zelle and Cash App to Reyes and Queentine. The next morning, I received a call telling me the puppy could not travel unless we purchased pet insurance in the amount of $2000, which was also refundable. At that point, I researched puppy scams on the internet and confirmed this was a known scam. When I refused to send any further money, I was threatened with dog abandonment proceedings. Apart from the humiliation, the worst part is they broke my young daughter's heart with disappointment. Their email is listed on the site as [email protected].

Person advertised 10 week old red poodle puppy for sale $550 plus shipping of $265. Seller name Fomvi Mulang. He did not wany credit card payment even if we pay his charges. We finally ageed to pay with pay pal but when he realized the transaction was to be for goods and services, he exploded! We think we have cancelled in time but won't know for sure for 3 business days. This is a scammer.

Found website for a tea cup yorkie puppy and they wanted 500 for the puppy and 200 to ship puppy. Then the freight company wanted 1000 for a special shipping crate to ship the puppy and would refund 950 when the puppy arrived. They wanted Venmo or Chime, which I do not have and would not take a credit card. I did not send an American Express cash credit card to shipping company but did send one to the breeder. And I let the breeder know I would drive the 8 hour trip to pick up the puppy, he will not send me his address. The shipping company is Interstate Logistics Shipping

I found a precious puppy on a website "miniaturepuppies.su" and that should have been my first clue. I put an inquiry in and receive correspondence with additional information and even 30+ photos of said puppy. After several days of communication, we proceeded with the purchase and sent $820, $500 for the puppy and $320 for the transportation. I felt fine and received an email confirmation from the "delivery company" stating that puppy was receiving final vet check before being delivered. However, today I received another email from the transportation company asking for more money in the amount of $1,889. I've pasted email below:

Dear Client Robert & Lauren Casey,

Accept greeting from the entire staff of BRIGHT WAY DELIVERY SERVICES,

This is a report regarding your Male Miniature Dachshund Puppy (TOBI) which is to be shipped and delivered at (3408 Mark Twain Blvd, Flower Mound, TX 75022). Visit the tracking page on our website at: https://www.brightwaydeliveryser.com/tracking/ to track your package and also confirm your delivery details. Your tracking number is: WPC08630920

Your puppy has been checked at the Pets Department and all the registration papers, healthy certificates, and passport are correct.

Due to the poor weather conditions, you are now required to Rent (Hire) a different crate for the safe delivery of your puppy.

Reasons for a change of Crates !!

1: The Delivery crate of the puppy has to be changed from a Basket crate provided by the senders to an Electronic Thermal Crate. The Basket crate does not contain potty pet space, a water bowl, or a food cane to help the puppy on the flight.

2: The crate is too small for the relaxation of the puppy on the flight. Due to the above reason, the crate has to be changed from a Basket crate to an Electronic Thermal Crate.

3: We are experiencing unfavorable weather conditions and transporting the puppy in the Basket crate will be detrimental to the health of your puppy

4: We need a Thermal Electronic crate during this period of shipping because it has a TEMPERATURE REGULATOR (HEATER) which will be regulated according to your puppy's body temperament thereby maintaining a constant body temperature

For the above reasons, the puppy can not be transported in the original crate. The crate has to be changed and we have to use an Electronic Thermal crate to ensure the safety of the pets on the flight to your location. We have these crates here at our agency in different varieties and PD (power drive ). Here are the various available Electronic Thermal crates listed below:

Thermal Electronic crate 0150 PD -------$2,489.00

Thermal Electronic crate 088 PD--------$1,889.00

Thermal Electronic crate 024 PD--------$1,790.00

We do not sell the crate to our customers but we offer them for hire or rental terms to safeguard your puppy on the flight. The money paid for the rental of the crate will be 100% Fully Refunded Back to you by the delivery agent bringing the puppy and he will refund back the money to you in cash or check when collecting the puppy at your home address. Since the sender sent the puppy using a basket crate when you will be picking up the puppy at the airport or directly at your home address, the delivery agent will come along with the Ventilated crate, to do the changes and have your money paid back. We requested that you make a choice from the above list of crates and choose the type of crate you will like your puppy to travel in, for safety.

DUE TO THE TEMPERAMENT OF YOUR PUPPY, WE ADVISE THAT YOU USE THE

Thermal Electronic crate 088 PD--------$1,889.00

Note: The higher the PD, the more safety and guarantee the Puppy has on the flight.

All payments will be done using our cashier's information which will be provided to you

NOTE: Once the puppy arrives at your home, the total amount of $1,889.00 will be refunded back to you

THE MANAGEMENT.....

This individual had another website which has been shut down last week, www.crisspydachshund.com. I was scammed for $650 and they have tried to get another $3200 from me for the shipping of the puppy. I noted the puppies pictures on the site are the same as the old ones. They have another website for shipping, which is www.haplytailtravel.com. I just want to inform so the new website can be shut down.

She's claiming to sell chihuahua puppies

Contacted via website to inquire about dog purchase

Contacted via text and email for all details including purchase price, shipping, care, AKC registration

Agreed on purchase price of $550

Used Zelle to complete transaction

Next day contacted from shipping agency to pay additional $800 for insurance, did not, asked the breeder to pay, he refused

Called Skyway Express Delivery to request waiver (why would I pay $800 for insurance for $550 dog?)

Royal website (https://royalteacupyorkiepuppieshome.com/) and Skyway Express Delivery website (https://skywayexpressdelivery.com/) appear bogus

Skyway contact number (+1(405)335-5856)

After refusal of insurance was told told dog would be quarantined at my expense, received quarantined tag from the Ministry Of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries

Request refund from Royal and was refused

Contacts name at Royal is Sam Simpson

ALL email and text documentation is available for review if required

I was sent an email after inquiring about a puppy with all information about the puppy, weight age etc. Then I was sent a text message asking if i got the email. I said yes and advised i can pick the pup up in Omaha instead of shipping. I was told they needed a deposit to hold the puppy. So i paid them 250.00 and they said i could contact them when i got to Omaha for an address for pickup. The day before i arrived and everyday for six days i tried to contact them with no response to where my puppy was.

They are operating on the website listed below and are using the cashapp tag $kxy16161 under the name Sasa who also may be the same scammer on Instagram @sasaebk

Selling Rottweiler puppies sent money for for dog only to be told a special crate $550 was needed then hour and half before the puppy was to be delivered I was then contacted by Global Logistics that an additional $700 needed for "temporal insurance" on the puppy.

Scammer tried to sell me a puppy for $1,250 plus delivery fee ($1,450 total) - very pushy about the money - puppy was adorable but something in my gut just didn't feel right because she was so pushy about money and I was extremely busy at the time working from home and she just wouldn't let up calling me ma'am I asked how old are you? 41 - then why are you calling me ma'am - red flags all over the place - when I tried to Zelle the money my bank rejected it - I think because of her email address - thank God and when I asked her for her phone number she was reluctant to give it to me - another red flag!!! This morning I googled her phone number and found puppy scams and ScamPulse.com scams - I knew my gut was telling me something - how disgusting making money via animals - I let her know I'm on to her and I was reporting her!!!

The scammer has a website. I originally contacted the website about the purchase of a puppy. From there the scammer “Anthony” contacted my phone. We communicate through texts and calls. I sent the deposit. He continued the scam until day of delivery when he called early in the morning asking for last payment. Which was more than what the website said. When told that I would not send money until I received the dog. And if he didn’t agree to the terms to return my deposit. He texted ok. Then stopped all contact. The phone number is a “Google #” will not answer or text back. When I try to communicate through the website. And use the chat feature… he disabled the chat.

I put a deposit down on a Teacup Chihuahua and was told I could pick the puppy up in Omaha Nebraska. When we arrived I attempted several times to get an address to pick him up and have gotten no response. I have called, texted, emailed several times eveyday and no response

I purchased a puppy from Josh Freeman from his Family Raised Papillons website. I communicated via text and email with him for days prior to paying $970 for the puppy and puppy travel ($650 for puppy, $320 for trav el). I paid via CashApp. There were many red flags, however I continued with the process as the puppy was a gift. We signed a contract for the puppy, which I'm certain has no value. After accepting my money, Josh continued to communicate with me for a week. The monetary transaction was made June 21, delivery of the puppy was scheduled for July 1. I could not get details about the specifics around the delivery. On June 30, I told Josh that I needed the flight info and contact info in order to pick the puppy up. He had a "transport service" call me and the service tried to charge me an additional $990 to rent a crate for the dog. I refused to pay. The transport company was called Global Ship Cargo (email [email protected]). After refusing to pay any more money, I have been unable to contact Josh or Global Ship Cargo. There was an additional phone number for Josh Freeman (probably a fake name) on the contract (719.259.2522). After calling this number, this is an assisted living apartment complex in Colorado Springs, nothing to do with anyone named Josh Freeman or any puppy.

I am confident I will not receive any kind of refund. I am embarrassed and disappointed that I saw so many red flags, yet continued in the process. I would just like to make sure no one else gets scammed.

Thanks

This person claimed to be a dog breeder by the name of Richmond Henderson selling border collie puppies from his website: www.royaltybordercollies.com. He asked for my name, address, phone number, how many children I have, and closest airport to me so that he could ship the dog. I signed a bill of sale contract so he also has my signature now. He asked for payment via Venmo or wire transfer upfront, but asked me to send it to a different email address: [email protected].

Upon sending the money via Zelle, I spoke to a Wells Fargo representative that warned me that this is probably a scam, so I quickly canceled the transfer of funds. I am worried about this person having my personal information.

The scammer has a website with pictures of corgi puppies for sale I contacted them and let them know I was interested. They informed me it was a $300 deposit to put the dog on hold. After I sent the $300 no further information was given to me about the puppy. They told me after I pay the 650 I would get the rest of the information.

Contact the scammer via the website and then received an email and text saying they will ship the dog and when would I be able to receive the dog and it never came then I was blocked and they never responded to any emails.

I had messaged this lady about a dog for sale, wanted me to send her the refundable deposit through Walgreens. She sent me a screenshot of a strand of message with another lady showing that that lady also used Walgreens to pay her the deposit and that she had received a dog from her previously. Messaged her on Facebook messenger and she said she was from Laurel yesterday; messaged her off my phone today and she said she was from Wynot.

Attempted to purchase a puppy off Facebook profile- Unique Dachshund for Rehoming. Seller seemed to be legit at first, but then became very persistent with sending a $150 deposit to hold puppy via cash apps- we were told this would be refundable. Once the deposit was made, arrangements were made to pick up the puppy at a safe location. Over the course of the next 2 days, this seller requested more money for ownership papers and stamps on papers totaling $290. When questioned about requiring more money for these "hidden fees" a video was sent of the seller claiming how honest she was- telling us to believe her. She also needed our names, address, phone number, and email for this paperwork. All amounts had to be sent to different Zelle accounts. Low and behold, the day of pick up the seller contacted us via messenger stating there is a family emergency and we can't meet, but the puppy will be delivered by a delivery service same day. We told the seller this was not okay, we did not consent to this- knowing another fee would be asked for. The seller made us feel like everything would be fine, by stating she paid for delivery fees. When asked what delivery company and for contact information, the seller said they would contact us shortly. It took hours before she provided a company and tracking number. I did recieve a text message from the delivery driver, he was very rude and inpatient- he demanded a $500 delivery insurance fee. While speaking with the seller, my husband tried calling this company- the delivery driver then called my phone saying he missed a call- demanding money to get the job done. I contacted the seller and let her know, both parties wanted me to pay the $500, because it was "refundable." I explained to both parties I could not pay any further money- the delivery driver continued to contact me via text message all day, even after I told him to stop harassing me. The seller continued to make us feel like we did something wrong and said if we paid part of the insurance fee, she would cover the rest and it was agreed that we were then even. We shelled out another $160, only to have the run around for several more hours. We asked for a refund multiple times and she keeps saying we are the bad guys because all we care about is the money- she was trying to come up with the remaining amount, so the puppy could be delivered. As the day gets later and later, same story. We even offered to just be refunded $310, but she then said shes out of state and the money can not be refunded.

They claimed to have a Maltipoo and be in Glendale AZ. They promised to have the puppy brought to the airport in my town by a pet transportation service and they promised to send me the travel info by Friday morning. On Friday morning they blocked me from their Instagram. They are still advertising the dog I paid for. The name on the Zelle payment I sent was:
