Wants access to computer when not necessary

I mistakenly called this group because I googled Canon Printer support and didn’t notice the sponsored sign. The person on the phone started by having me run my systems and I thought it was odd because my problem was getting my black ink to work after refilling my printer inky tank. He then wanted access to my computer and I refused. He got aggressive and told me I would have to take my printer to a store. I hung up on him. I then clicked the link to the website and got an error. These are scammers who want to to take over your computer. I’m glad I hung up. I then found the Canon support and was guided to flush my black ink nozzle and it worked. If your printer isn’t working NO ONE NEEDS ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER!

Had printer issues and instead of searching for manual I googled my printer name and model . Thinking I had reached a legal representative to assist me, I trusted these individuals. They claimed My IP address had been hacked by foreigners. My printer is an all in one , printer, fax, copy, scan. I did not think after the guy could not connect me the 1st time when asked are all the cables connected. I said yes. He hung he saying let me call you back. I told him from the start do not access the modem with CenturyLink. However, when he did call me back asked to see the front of the printer screen. Once I did this he could see me entering the password to the modem. But even before then he had access to the computer system using a software cohost. Billy Damon and his counterparts accessed the modem . I did not think anything was strange after his counterparts kept me on the phone nearly 3 hours for two hundred and forty six dollars. These guys do not work for CenturyLink and probably or not from Tennessee. The website Philadelphia PA for contact with a phone number 18335113031. Also I was given an extension number to ask for when I called. The extension doesn't exist. I was advised not take my computer to any locals and told to sign the payment that I authorized and signed and dated it. But they made a huge mistake scamming me hacking my home modem watching . A new modem has been ordered which will take 3 to 4 buisness days. The phone numbers they gave me to call were 18035900694 and 18883030596

I believe that this also happened to me just yesterday. Did you take any additional security measures or contact someone once the transaction was finished? Hmmmm... something fishy with what happened to me.
