Scammer indicated that they were doing work for our neighbors and wanted to inspect our chimney. On inspection, they said they found damage that would cost about $1000 to fix. Once they were given access, they demolished a part of our chimney and said that the cost was actually $7000 to rebuild. They employed high-pressure sales tactics to attempt to close the sale immediately. They attempted to discourage us from getting multiple quotes from reputable contractors. They manufactured urgency by saying that the weather was about to turn and now that the chimney was now compromised from the demo work, weather damage would result. They left a mess and their demo work was dangerous and sloppy. We successfully got them off of our property but now have a partially-demolished chimney.
