I received a phone call by individuals pretending to be workers of the police authority and first responders.

They asked me several of times over the phone did I want to make a pledge by donating funds ?? I really was under the impression that the call was not a scam, by the way the call came in., they also sent me a piece of mail but when I watched (wavy 10 News)

I then learned that it was all a scam.

I received a phone call from Police Officers Support Association claiming to help police and emergency responders asking for a donation. I did not trust the call and asked to have information sent so I could review and check first for a possible $20 pledge. Instead, I receive a pledge confirmation notice and when I research online find this is some PAC and the money doesnt go to police or first responders. When I checked online I found it is a scam and described online. They keep calling and sending letters demanding "pledge" money. This is ridiculous because they do not help injured or killed police or responders and those that put their lives on the line only to be used to scam people. I have not sent the money but want to advise others not to. Just support your local associations that you know.

I WAS ASKED TO PLEDGE AN AMOUNT TO GIVE STARTING WITH CHOICES OF $30 or $40, BUT I TOLD THEM I CANNOT AFFORD THAT AMOUNT AND THEY SAID $15 PLUS EXTRA $2, I WAS NOT COMFORTABLE GIVING MY CREDIT CARD AND ATM CARD. THEY SOUND VERY NICE...THEIR EMAIL IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, www.policeofficerssupportassociation.org
