I own a security guard service, and I often get emails requesting a guard to watch their home while away, then ask if we'll take a credit card payment. They never want to talk on the phone, but they insist on not communicating by email, but by text to your cell phone. They ask you to over charge the credit card they're using, because it goes through your business account rather quickly, then draw out the cash from your account and give it to his broker. The CC turns out to be no good, you end up having to return the funds you withdrew, back to your bank. Usually, we can spot these scam letters by the poor grammar, misspelling or obvious cut and paste sentences from a letter, the language makes no sense at all. No matter what, a genuine client seeking to do business with my company won't ask if we have a merchant account or accept credit cards. So although this guy's email was brief and all words spelled correctly, this paulalex person is stupid to use the same email address when shopping different businesses to scam.

I was contacted by a Paul Alex. He wanted a logo and catalog. I caught on when wouldn't speak on the phone, he was emailing me from [email protected]. He also text me from # 682-231-3992. He then text from # 716-575-5022 and stated to "Keep all business conversations here" and asked if I had a Merchant Account. At this point I texted him back "I know you're a fraud".
