I was sent an Instagram link by a trusted person, advertising Joann Fabrics’ closeout materials, sewing machines, etc. I knew that the retailer had gone out of business earlier in the spring. I clicked on the link which was set up exactly as the Joann website. I ordered sewing supplies from the site, providing my personal information. When I received email confirmation, it included cheap jewelry in the same amount and unit prices as the sewing notions that I had ordered. The company was listed, ironically, as ROOB ([email protected]). The confirmation email appeared to come from PayPal, though my actual PayPal account shows no activity.

On the facebook page it said Closeout of Joanns Fabric. I clicked on it and purchased a2 sewing machines and notions. paid it and never got aan Email to say confirmed but they charged my Credit card

A friend posted a link in a facebook group for discount and deals. I clicked on the link and began shopping what I thought was the Joanns Fabrics store closing clearance. Items were deeply discounted, but I did think that was correct due to the store closure. I added items to my cart, and an additional discount was taken at the end, taking my $142.00 purchase down further to $70.00, a discount I was delighted to accept. I used PayPal to purchase the items. The company has communicated via email, sending me tracking numbers in Chinese, which I translated into the shipping tracking link they also provided in Chinese. The items show as having been delivered, but no shipping provide is listed (USPS, FEDEX, etc) They continue to insist the items will be arriving any day now. I know know that I was a scam victim. It has been hard to get a refund through PayPal bc their form to file a dispute is very narrow, and not all my information is accepted-ex: my total amount of goods doesn't equal the amount I paid due to the discount they gave me, so I can't get the form submitted. Normally, I find paypal very easy to use in fraud cases or cases of sellers not fulfilling their agreement, but this has complicated matters, as my bank also won't help me bc I used PayPal. Now I am stuck in limbo trying to get my refund. I just don't want anyone else to be scammed at this point.

I saw an ad on facebook for Joann liquidation. The scammer created a Joann liquidation site that was an exact copy of the real one (except the URL, which I didn't notice). I ordered many small items and a few more expensive ones. When I received the confirmation I noticed nothing odd, but now I see that at the bottom "Have any questions or feedback? Contact us at [ [email protected] ]" A week later I tried to track the delivery with the confirmation number they gave me. It said it had been shipped but there was no other info on delivery. Today I tried again and contacted Paypal. Paypal had a record of the purchase, but many of the items listed were incorrect. I tried to alert Paypal but their form rejected me because I was unable to fill out all the information. I did not realize until this evening when I googled that there is more than one scam out there for Joann, and this is one of them.

I saw an ad for Joann Fabric on Facebook and clicked the link (yes, stupid). It took me to a site that looked like Joann's normal legal site and showed their stores going out of business sale. The site showed the trusted Store security icon. The site showed the statement of All rights reserved Joann.com. All items listed looked like the normal Joann's store. The cart showed Guaranteed Safe Checkout for Visa, MC, FedEx, and icons.

I placed an order on 3/3/25 and received a confirmation email on 3/6/25 stating the items were picked up by the carrier. However in small print at the top of the page, it said NOT SHIPPED. The information on my charge card statement shows FASHIONS ENIGMA LIMITED London GB. I emailed them hoping I was wrong about being scammed however, I never received a response.

A Facebook ad was created advertising a 90% off clearance sale online for Joann Fabric. The website took me to a store that looked exactly like the Joann Fabric online store. Scammer took card number, address and phone number.
