Type of a scam Online Purchase

I was in Toronto and wanted to park at a green P municipal parking lot, but needed the mobile app apparently in order to do so. I googled green p mobile app and the first website that was listed turned out to be a scam. When I clicked on it, it looked like the municipal parking app and when I went to sign up it asked for my name, address and credit card info, which seemed like a reasonable request and then I got a notice that the charging company would be listed as mygamesfun.com (even though I had not yet authorized any payment). I then realized this was not what I thought it was and I immediately called my credit card company who informed me that a charge of $4.21 had been posted by this company. I immediately froze my credit card account. I emailed the company at the contact email from the website and indicated that they had misrepresented themselves, that I did not authorize this nor any future payments and asked them to refund the money taken. When they did not respond, on the advice of my credit card company, I cancelled my credit card which created a predictable domino effect of inconveniences.
