I thought I was applying to renew my passport but I did not look closely enough. This is not a government website and is a scam. They take all of your personal information, SSN, security question info, email address and payment info and then they send you an email with a prefilled out form to submit to get your passport. It is completely unnecessary and you still have to pay for your passport so this service is a scam and does nothing for you. They likely just sell your personal info to other scammers. This website should not be allowed to carry on as is serves no purpose and is not linked to the government.

I had been told I could apply for a passport online, when searching online for the site, I selected www.usatraveldocs.org, which looked to be a legit government website. I gave all pertinent info for the passport application, then I was asked to pay a fee, which I gave my credit card. Afterwards, I received an email, directing me to download my prepared application, after doing so, I then saw in fine print at the bottom of the page, that usatraveldocs was not a government entity and I would need to take my completed application to a us government office and pay a fee to process my application. So, I basically paid this company to fill out my passport application for me to the tune of $169.00. I want to make others aware of this company so they do not make the same mistake as I. I have put security measures in place to protect my assests among other things, but this company now has all of my personnel information and I'm very upset and scared what can happen because of my mistake. Please be aware and take your time when searching for things online.
