I found martinsexoticbirds.com while searching for a Gouldian finch online. The person represented themselves as having an inventory of the bird I was looking to purchase, but were in the midst of an Website downtime. We exchanged details of the bird first via email at [email protected] then via text. When I origianlly made contact their website was up and functional and looked professional so I was understanding of the outage. They required payment via ApplePay or Chime since their site was down. After making the purchase via ApplePay I was told the bird was dropped off at the shipping company and that I needed to follow up with the shipper for details on delivery. That is when the shipper https://globallogisticshipping.com/ told me I would need to pay a completely refundable $179.99 Insurance Fee in order for the shipment to take place. That is when I believed this was a scam. I told them I wanted to decline the insurance and to please ship the package. They refused. I then found this entry here at BBB.org for the phone number they were using and had confirmation that there would be no bird arriving at my house.
