Received a letter from One Perk Place "welcoming" me to the 15 day trial membership for savings on everyday purchases at local retail businesses. I never enrolled in this program and they plan to bill me $23.86 monthly and I don't know if they have my banking info, they didn't say what account they plan to withdrawal from and I'm not happy!!! I'm not rich and I work hard for my money and I don't appreciate being scammed. I hope this helps others out there??????

Congratulations -- it said, this was a thin printed paper AD, from: Grocery Rewards Plus. in Deerfield Beach, Fl- that is shipped with Miscellaneous orders people place with different Mail Order Companies...I have seen it so many times..& just threw it away...but this time, I decided to call the #862-702-1717 & see what the heck was going on for a $50 Free Card. I did, & it was a Indian decent voice, & he said it was Electronics Ins...he kept on sahing I could use this card anywhere Walmart, Target, anywhere. $3.99 trial, & then $14.99 mo. Like the other lady stated, they had me talking to 2-3 other people with #, etc. He even gave me confirmation #, & another ph number, 1-888-944-0666. However, I went ahead & tried it, & on 5/26/22 they charged the $3.99, but still as of today 6-12-22 I still have not received $50 VISA CARD, so I decided to call Thur...but got no answer, now today, my Bank account is charged $23.87, from Perk Place, Ph # 1-800-341-8081, it is Sunday, & of course it is closed...I see YES it is a SCAM...I need my $$ for FOOD, that is what I was going to use the card for...

This company gives a free promises Walmart gift card. No card and you cancel and they continue to charge your card 14.99 a month. The number they told me call is my total wireless company.

I received a ad in a photo clearing house piece of mail I received thinking it was legit bc of the source who provided and called the number to receive 1 gift card but was made aware I was eligible for 2 and my bank info was given Bank charged the shipping fee and no gifts cards. I have no contact info for them and need a refund but will go thru my bank I guess.

I received a replacement Ally Bank debit card in the mail. The card included a sticker with the phone number to activate it (1-833-414-4855). When I called the number I was surprised when a human answered and not an automated service, as typically the card activation process is automated. It sounded like a call center as I could hear other people on the phone in the background and the guy on the other end had a light Indian accent.

The man greeted me as an Ally Bank customer service representative though there was something vaguely unpolished about it. He proceeded to ask for the full card number, name on the card, expiration and CVV number, along with my name, birth date, address and email. After giving him all the aforementioned information he then had me repeat it after a beep sounded (I realized I was being recorded). He then had me write down a "confirmation number" and gave me another phone number (18006278372) to call.

By now my suspicions were pretty high. I called the number the guy gave me and it took me to the what sounded like (and probably was) the legitimate Mastercard help center. After going through the automated Mastercard help line I was then forwarded to the Ally Bank general customer support line (also automated). At this point before I activated the card I figured out that it was probably a scam and that the fraudsters were waiting for me to activate the card now that they had collected all the card information. I verified that the number I dialed originally matched the sticker on the card exactly (I didn't get the number wrong). The craziest thing is that when I called the number back it put me through to the actual Ally Bank automated card activation menu rather than going to the fraudsters.

Anyway, I called the Ally Bank support number on their website to speak with an actual representative and they confirmed that it was almost certainly fraud and canceled the card I had been mailed (it was never activated so I think I'm safe). Meanwhile, while I was on the phone with the real Ally customer service rep I got four alerts for declined charges to my checking account in the amount of $3.99 for "1PERKPLACE 8889414852" (the charges were shown as being from Connecticut even though I live several states away).

This also happened to me, nearly the exact same scenario, although did not provide much personal info. They claimed they were from "grocery savings line"

I called and raised hell for a 20 dollar charge . I kept asking what service this was and the woman with a strong accent kept saying, "it is a service" like a parrot. Finally she admitted it to be a discount restraunt service whether this is true I dont know. I NEVER signed up for this. BUT before I hung up the phone and without a need t I be transfered my refund was processed. So just keep at it and they'll cancel.

I thought I was calling Regions Bank and made an error in the phone number. I was connected to a calling center who took my information and signed me up to perk place AND a money management place. I called and cancelled my card and also called that number back and asked them to unsubscribe me from everything. It posted to my bank account as pending, guess Ill have to wait and see if it drops off. Now im without a card I rely on heavily until I get my new one...ugh

Called Fidelity to activate card but misdialed by one digit and got them, oblivious to the fact that it was wrong # until I’d given all my info. Told me I would get a text confirming I had spoken to them and that I should respond by hitting option one. Upon reading the text I noticed that option 1 was agreeing to a 1PERKPLACE charge of $1.95 and option 2 was fraudulent activity. This is when I got suspicious. Told me I had to give them an alternative credit card to get activation confirmation #. I refused. Then I requested supervisor who also confirmed that was the only way to get my card activated, when I demanded an alternate method, he released the call. I then returned to my text and realized it was a fraud alert from the real Fidelity. Please beware. And attempt online activation if possible. Online wasn’t available for me at this late hour for some reason. Hope this helps someone. I had to add credit lock to my account.

Under Gateway website there was a number to call about your 1yr warranty and I called went through all my demographics and then my card info, go an email seconds after hanging up and was signed up for one perk place. I called immediately and cancelled membership and then called and canceled my card information. I’m a freaking [censored] for not catching on beforehand.

I called Xfinity to verify whether a software upgrade for my TV receiver was legitimate.
The rep told me I had to listen to an automated message, which turned out to be One Perk Place, who subsequently charged me $1.95. If I don't cancel within 15 days, they will start charging $19.99 a month. Xfinity is doing an "investigation" to find out why their employee is involved. This is a scam!

I was calling for unemployment benefits and was directed to perk place. I knew it was a scam once they asked for debit card number.
