long-winded story of quoting $149 for chimney cleaning and $69 for inspection for cleaning and inspection of chimney. answering service 888.279.7379 set up sunday appointment and guy (his number is 415.360.1685) got here scratched a little soot out of chimney, then wanted to 'inspect' chimney, off my ladder - he did not have one. ok, then had ladder turned wrong way and i turned it around so he didn't fall. walked up on roof, 30 seconds later came down and quoted $665 for clean and inspect. paid him $69 for showup. he tried to negotiate down and i told him to get out of here. looking at others, pricing ($665) and actions, including not having own ladder is same. get this crowd, and i will be contracting contractors state license board (CSLB) in morning, and let them chase these frauds down.
